It's sad when the people you are refering to are your friends.

Okay, here we have Ed (Yes, the Ed I have talked about in previous entries), he's a slot machine mechanic at the Nugget. And here we have Sammy, the shift supervisor for graveyard. Here we have 2 boys (Ed and Sammy) with brains but they failed to use them.

Well, they're in a shitload of trouble now.

They've been ripping off the Nugget for a while. Here's the process:

Sammy builds up his credits on a machine then sticks his hand right on the slot that releases the money. After so many quarters are released with his hand blocking them so they can't fall out, they jam the machine. Sammy then calls Ed. Ed opens the machine to unjam the quarters but in the process, he reaches in and takes more quarters and throws them in the slot so it looks like Sammy had really won the money and Ed was just unjamming the machine. Pretty slick, right?

Well, they got a little too cocky and greedy. So yesterday morning around 5am, Ed opens a machine and just gives Sammy some money to go cash in. Bad move. The eye in the sky (surveillance) was watching them. That eye in the sky that morning happened to be the 2 biggest bosses in the casino.

Anyways, I was there drinking coffee like usual and Ed comes up to me and asks me to take him home because he got an early out. I didn't think anything of it since Ed always gets EO'd. Apparently Ed didn't know about the bosses watching him either, he really didn't feel good. So I take him home and it ended up me and Ed having to go to Minden to take some jackass to work. On the way to Minden, Ed gets a call from the Nugget saying they needed to talk to him. He figured it was because he forgot his keys in the shop. Wrong. 10 Minutes after the Nugget called and right as we were going to the Nugget, Shari (Sammys girlfriend) calls Ed and tells him Sammy was just taken away in handcuffs and to not come to the Nugget or to his house.

So I take him to my house so we can both get a few hours of sleep. Then the Nugget starts calling me and asking me where Ed is (everyone saw us leave together) and of course, I played stupid. I still really had no clue what was going on besides Ed having to come with me. Later on Shari calls back and explains that surveillance had saw what Ed and Sammy did.

Here's the funny thing. Sammy's being charged with cheating and Ed's being charged with embezzlement. Cheating is a misdemeanor and embezzlement is a heavy felony. How could Sammy not get embezzlement when he was the one that actually cashed in the money? So by now, I'm confused as fuck.

Ed ended up calling his ex-wife to come down and pick him up but me and Shari had to go over to Ed's apartment to clear out some things before she got there. Me and Shari are scared shitless to go over there since EVERYONE knows we (Me, Ed, Shari and Sammy) all hang out together but we go and do what needs to get done. It sucks when you have to look over your shoulder every 5 seconds to make sure you're not being followed.

I get back to my house and 2 hours later, Ed's crackhead friend calls and says he just went to Ed's house and Ed's door was wide open and his computer was gone. All I could think was, "bullshit, bullshit, bullshit". I know the guy too well and he probably pawned it for some dope. I was just like, "How can you do that to him when he's in a situation like that?" and hung up the phone.

So I go to work last night. Get questioned about everything by everyone and hear all the untrue rumors flying around. I heard one waitress walk up to my supervisor and say, "Did you hear Ed and Sammy are sitting in a jail cell?" and I walked up to her in front of my supervisor and said, "Oh really? Well, that's funny, I talked to Sammy this afternoon around 1pm right after he got out of jail and Ed never went to jail, they can't find him." My supervisor didn't do anything to me because she could see I was upset about the whole ordeal and my supervisor always values truth over some dumb bitches lies. Anyways, here's some rumors going around:

1. Ed and Sammy embezzled $37,500. Funny, the only money they know about is the $400 missing that they know they took.

2. Ed was picked up at 10am at his house and took to jail. Wow, Ed must have snuck out when I was asleep, went to jail and came home before I woke up and forgot to tell me he went to jail.

3. Me, Shari and John (Shari's dad) were all taking money from the Nugget. Damn, if I was taking money from the Nugget, I wouldn't be living with my mom. Oh wait, did they also forget I can't even fucking be on the casino floor? Same with Shari. I'm 18, she's 20. And John had NOTHING to do with it.

There's just a few.

Well, anyways, as far as I know, Ed's ex-wife picked him up, he's in California and he's going to have a friend drive him down today so he can turn himself in and his friend will post bail.

It's been a fucking crazy day. That's for damn sure.
